Adequate time is allotted for questions about the songwriting and recording process.

ARTIST RESIDENCIES

Artist residencies are conceived and scheduled by a school liaison or committee and Katherine several months in advance and may last as long as three weeks. During a typical residency, Katherine is available every school day for as many as 5 songwriting/instrument building workshops. It is suggested that each class visit Katherine at least three different times for at least 50 minutes each time,, to give students an opportunity to experience the craft of songwriting first -hand in more depth.

The school should also designate a small quiet space (with a desk and flip chart) for Katherine touse as an artist's studio for the duration of the residency. During her school day off hours students visit Katherine's studio, and observe and ask questions as she works on writing her own songs. Katherine also kicks off the residency with an assembly program for the whole school, and students end the residency by performing the songs they have written for parents.

SPECIALTY PROGRAMS, HOLIDAY PROGRAMS, SUMMER READING

All of Katherine's programs can be adapted to fit a specific theme for Summer Reading, holiday or other specialty events and programs.
